Just The Tip

When creating your Wedding Budget, there are loads of small details to consider and be mindful of, one if which is gratuity!

Many clients ask for guidance regarding gratuity. In bold is everyone that absolutely, 100% needs to be tipped. Please take this into consideration when discussing your total wedding budget!

NOTE: Since these are meant to be an extra “thank you” to the staff, cash tips are always appreciated :)

1. Serving Staff

Guidance - 5-10% of food and beverage charges.

For the Maitre’d or your direct liaison, a larger tip (think $300-$500) is customary.

Note: if you have separate bartenders, consider giving them a separate gratuity, and ask them to politely NOT set out a tip jar.

2. Venue Staff

Along with your serving staff, please don’t forget to tip the coat check staff, the valet attendants, your bridal attendant, and any other support that keeps the venue running on the wedding day.

3. Transportation

Absolutely tip your transportation drivers. $100 per driver is wonderful.

4. Beauty Vendors

Tip out your beauty vendors the same as you would at a salon! 20% is wonderful

5. Entertainment

If you’re using a band, each band member must be tipped. You can either give 15% of the total band cost, or $100-$200 per band member.

If you’re using a DJ, a $100-$200 tip is greatly appreciated

6. Photographer/Videographer

Consider tipping members of your photography and videography team. They’re there to make your life wonderful and create lasting memories.

If your vendors are part of a large company employing loads of photo/video specialists, they should definitely get a 15% tip.

7. Florist

Many times, your florists will set up your decor with a whole team of humans. Ask your florist how many people will be on-site and tip out $50-$100 per pair of hands!

8. Hotel Staff

If you’re staying at a hotel, remember to tip the housekeeping staff a bit extra so they take care of your room on the day of! There will be a lot going on and loads of hairspray/bobby pins/boob tape to clean before you and your new spouse land back at the room for the night.

9. Extras

Please tip $100 or $200 to people that are working your photobooth, serving you gelato at the end of the night, the guys from the pizza truck, and even the caricaturist you hired to draw photos of your guests.
